About You

You probably chose to be a dental hygienist because....

You really liked your dental hygienist, you liked caring for people, and you really liked the pay and the hours. You learned that it is a respected profession and that people will "always have teeth," so there is always job security. You knew that you could make a difference in people's lives, work and collaborate as part of a team, and serve the public's needs.

Until...you wanted to grow in a different direction, to do something "else", but practice regulations may have gotten in your way. Or you weren't sure what you wanted to do. And you are working full-time.

So, now what? Should you join your professional association? Call your friends? Join a Facebook community? Attend CE? Return to school? All of the above?

"How do I know I am making the right decision and how do I get where I need to go to reach my goal?"....that is your question.

I have been exactly where you are, along with thousands of other dental hygienists. Many hygienists end up leaving the profession or serving in jobs/careers where they feel that they have hit the ceiling on where they want to be. There are also many who are burnt out and working on a 30-minute schedule. Ack!

Now, you have support.

Start where you are and get what you need to continue your success and blossom as a professional
